One way to look at ICW's effectiveness is to consider it's ROI. In FY20, ICW deployed $1.2M of funding into our program and yielded nearly $12.6M in direct value creation from reducing recidivism rates of students.

lifetime education and achievement, family impact, participant health, and other indirect or longer term benefits of avoiding prison.

ICW is at the forefront of measuring impact. Through our efforts to track recidivism rates and employment rates, we are able to hone in on a value for ROI – Return on Investment.
ROI: 10.6x
In 2020, for every dollar donated and deployed towards the program, we generated a 10.6x return in "value" - a metric derived from savings generated by reducing incarceration rates and promoting employment and higher wages for students. We believe this ROI, while astounding, only scratches the surface of the true cost savings; especially considering the cost savings of preventing just one homicide can exceed $17.25M.
