On July 9th, the ICW participants and staff were invited out to Gillette Stadium by our longtime partners, The New England Revolution, to attend one of their practices. Afterwards, our participants were able to chat and network with the players, coaching staff, and executives of the team. It’s always a good time when staff and participants get together outside of our typical gym environment. Engagement with our community partners is essential to building trust and creating lasting relationships between participants, staff, and anyone else interested in the ICW mission. ICW trainer Branden recalls his experience at the practice, “The practice was very good. Very helpful for game play. Brandon Bye and myself spend a lot of time talking about fitness. He was asking and I was giving pointers. Overall, it was a beautiful experience”. This is just one of their events ICW has been invited to, having worked their Fan Zone last April and this July with many more appearances to come.
ICW has been a proud partner with The New England Revolution Foundation since 2022 when they donated $10k. They support organizations who are involved with social justice and equity initiatives. ICW’s mission calling for social equity and equal opportunity for people who have been affected by mass incarceration aligns perfectly with the mission of the NEREVS Foundation. The shared values of inclusion in sport and fitness is just another link between these two organizations. This similarity automatically opens the door for connection between members of each organization.
